Ashington War Memorial

Brambledown have completed the Construction of a new war memorial in Ashington Northumberland. A project, which spanned over 4 months, included removing the original Ashington Memorial statue from its old base which was situated some 20 metres away on a concrete structure base. Brambledown constructed a new brick base into which the statue was positioned and fixed, and onto which the names of the fallen armed forces members were positioned. Surrounding the statue, Brambledown installed a multi-tiered brick walkway made from specially designed handmade bricks. In a project valued at over £130k, Brambledown were also responsible for the creation of a meorial Garden surrounding the statue which involved Resin Bound pathways, brick memorial walls with plaques and artwork attached, street furniture, memorial seats, general seating, lighting, bins, block paving and tree planting. Brambledown also installed a large flag pole, which would be used primarily for remembrance services. The newly positioned Ashington War Memorial is not only now more accessible, but it is more pleasing on the eye. It is a fitting tribute, based on a wonderful design, to some of the bravest men and women that our country has lost over the centuries.
