Ashington Pit Wheel Memorial
Brambledown are in the process of installing a Pit Wheel memorial and associated hard and soft landscaping surrounding the feature.
The giant Pit wheel memorial is being installed on behalf of Northumberland Council, to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the opening of Ashington colliery pit. Ashington was once known as the centre of the coal mining industry.
Brambledown have pieced together two seperate halves of salvaged pit wheels, and joined them together in a delicate fabrication, and constructed into heavily strengthened concrete foundations.
